Abstract

1,101,508. Terry looms; beat-up motions. CANNON MILLS CO. 20 Sept., 1965 [19 Aug., 1965], No. 40074/65. Heading D1E. A beat-up motion for a terry loom comprises a reed 13, pivoted about 14 by a linearly moveable inclined cam slot 41 that has a portion 43, parallel to the linear movement, to lock the reed in the full beat-up position. A pattern controlled solenoid 34 may disengage a rod 24, of the cam-operated mechanism that reciprocates the cam slot 41, to allow non-terry weaving.
