Abstract

1,096,965. Buckles. UNDERGARMENT ASSEMBLIES, Inc. Sept. 14, 1966, No 41149/ 66. Heading E2A. A tape and slide assembly comprises a slide 14 having side bars 25, 26 end portions 29, 30 and an interrupted centre bar consisting of two tabs 27, 28 projecting inwardly from the end portions to provide a pair of tape receiving slots, the gap between the tabs being wide enough for a tape portion to be pushed therethrough, the end portions 29, 30 having notches 31, 32 in alignment with the tabs, and a tape 12 having a portion extending through the slots and overlying the centre bar and an end portion 34 reversely folded to underlie the centre bar, and a staple-like fastener 35 having a bar portion 36 extending .through the fold of the tape end 34 and leg portions 37, 38 extending through the notches and bent over the talbs to clamp the side edges of the end portion of the tape against the tabs. As shown, the tape 12 is connected to a second tape 16 by a link 18, and the assembly may be produced in high speed automatic machinery.
