Abstract
1,096,061. Testing coins. TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO. Feb. 1, 1965 [Feb. 11, 1964], No. 4239/65. Headings G4V and G4X. In apparatus for testing coins in an automatic vending machine a primary coil 2 and a secondary coil 3 are wound on the same non- magnetic bobbin (c), the magnetic coupling between the coils being influenced by a coin to be tested 15. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, a coin 15 is compared with a genuine coin 14, identity causing a signal from a NOT circuit 12 to operate a relay 13. In Fig. 3 (not shown) an electrical equivalent (16, 17) is used instead of the genuine coin 14. In a modification (Fig. 4 not shown), only one pair of coils is used, the secondary coil being connected via an amplifier and rectifier to an undervoltage relay.
