Abstract

1,095,334. Ventilators; lighting fittings combined with ventilation apparatus. R. F. MORRISON & CO. Ltd. Dec. 29, 1964 [Dec. 31, 1963], No. 51313/63. Headings F4R and F4V. Ventilating air is supplied to a room through perforations 17 and 18 in a lighting troffer suspended by rods 5A in a suspended ceiling. Air enters the troffer through an opening 8 in an end wall 2A and the distribution perforations 17 and 18 are located in channel strips 11 and 12 carried by strip spring clips 9 and 10 secured to the side walls 1A and 1B of the troffer. A light diffuser 3 is located on the strips 11 and 12. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the distribution perforations are located in a horizontal limb of an angle section strip and may be controlled by lateral movement of a further angle section strip. The openings 8 of a number of troffers in a room are connected by flexible sleeves to damper-controlled branch ducts of a main air supply duct located above the ceiling of a corridor, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
