Abstract

Rinsing and cleaning agents of low foaming power are characterized by replacing wholly or partly the component (A) in the cleaning agent composition described in the parent Specification, by an adduct of ethylene oxide, containing 35 to 85 mol. per cent of oxyethylene residues, to a propylene oxide polymer of molecular weight 1000-4000, and/or by replacing the component (C) wholly or partly by a propylene oxide polymer of total molecular weight 1000-5000, to which may be added up to 30 mol. per cent of ethylene oxide. The component (A) is defined as one or more compounds containing polyoxyalkylene residues and substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residues, the polyoxyalkylene residues of which consist of at least 50 mol. per cent of oxyethylene residues, the remainder consisting of higher oxyalkylene residues, (B) as one or more acetals and/or ketals of compounds of group (A), and (C) as one or more compounds containing oxyalkylene or polyoxyalkylene residues and substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residues, the polyoxyalkylene residues of which consist of more than 50 mol. per cent of oxypropylene residues and/or higher oxyalkylene residues, the remainder consisting of oxyethylene residues, and/or acetals or ketals of compounds of group (C). The cleansing agents are used in aqueous liquid form and organic solvents miscible with water may also be included.
