Abstract

1,094,506. Inductors. MULLARD Ltd. Aug. 25, 1966 [Oct. 12, 1965], No. 43214/65. Heading H1T. A substrate F for a thin film circuit assembly is made of ferrite and is apertured, e.g. at S to provide a magnetic core for a multi-turn winding W. The inductance may be varied by movement (up or down) of a ferrite member E which may be separated from the substrate F by an insulating (silicon oxide) coating. The provision for varying inductance may be omitted or may comprise two overlapping substrate members each having a projection between slots running from its edge with the winding surrounding the two projections (Fig. 6, not shown). The winding is made of wire or strip and connected to conductors and other components formed by vapour deposition. The substrate may be of nickel-zinc cobalt ferrite and polished. The winding may be secured by encapsulation in a suitable resin.
