Abstract
1,093,233. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. KAWASAKI JYUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. March 26, 1965 [April 6, 1964], No.12921/65. Heading G3P. A rotary hydraulic servomotor has an input shaft 25 and an output shaft 24 and is so arranged that rotation of the input shaft causes an equal rotation of the output shaft. The output shaft is integral with a rotary vane-type servomotor 23 and has an upper portion 18 received within a sleeve 12 formed integral with a rotary vane 8 and a shaft 4. The vane 8 defines two chambers (3, 3', Fig. 4, not shown) which communicate with an inlet 1 via passages 50 and 2, (2') and with passages 5, (5') leading axially through shaft 4 to a chamber 9 connected to an outlet 11. A semi-circular disc valve 7 attached to input shaft 25 controls the escape of fluid from passages 5, (5'). The sleeve 12 has a lower groove 13 communicating with inlet 1 and with passages 16, 17, and an upper groove 13' communicating with outlet 11 and with passages 14, 15. The vane 23 defines chambers (22, 22 Fig. 2, not shown) and these communicate respectively with passages 19, 19' leading axially through shaft 24, passage 19 having branch passages 20, 20' and passage 19 having branch passages 21, 21'. In operation, movement of the input shaft disturbs the pressure balance on vane 8 thereby causing the latter to rotate by the same amount in the same direction to restore the balance. Rotation of vane 8 causes rotation of sleeve 12 to connect one of chambers (22, 22') to the inlet and the other to exhaust, thereby causing the vane 23 to rotate by the same amount and in the same direction as the sleeve. Passages 10 leading from chambers (3, 3') to the underside of sleeve 12 serve to lubricate movement of the latter. The output shaft may control the displacement of a pump or a butterfly valve.
