Abstract

The moulded sole of a sports shoe having projecting studs is provided with a series of recesses 6 (Figs. 1 and 2, Figs. not shown) which extend at least part way across the sole, are spaced lengthwise of the sole, and are remote from the studs, to provide lines of flexing. As shown the recesses are tapering grooves terminating in circular enlargements 7. Further grooves 8 are located along the centre of the sole and staggered with respect to grooves 6.
