Abstract

A carpet pile of cotton, rayon or wool is treated with a solution of a polysiloxane having an affinity for cellulosic fibres. 0.5-5% of the siloxane may be applied. The solution may also contain a polyvinyl or polyurethane resin. The solvent may be methyl ethyl, methyl isopropyl, or methyl isobutyl ketone, or white spirit.
