A two-row beet harvester adapted to be towed by a tractor comprises two pairs of lifting wheels 19, 19<SP>1</SP> mounted on a transversely and vertically adjustable subframe 72 which is pivotally connected by links 41, 42 to a shaft 31 rotatable abouts its own axis. Transverse adjustment of the subframe is effected by a hydraulic cylinder 73 attached at one end to a lever 78 affixed to link 41, the other end of the cylinder being adjustably mounted on a bracket 75 of the shaft 31. Vertical adjustment is effected by a hydraulic cylinder 34 connected to a yoke 32 attached to the shaft 31. The pairs of wheels are relatively adjustble by adjusting their supporting clamps 52 along cross-bar 51, and contracting or extending a telescopic bar 81. Flail assemblies 48 between the pairs of wheels are driven from the tractor p.t.o. shaft. The cross shafts of a cleaning bed (20) (Fig. 4, not shown), and conveyers 21 and (26) (Fig. 1, not shown) are also driven from the p.t.o shaft. The harvested crop is fed to a storage tank.
