Abstract

1,089,236. Cutting concrete blocks. SKOVDE GASBETONG A.B. Jan. 6, 1966 [Jan. 14, 1965], No. 607/66. Heading B5A. A method for continuously cutting a. light concrete aggregate 23 comprises allowing the aggregate to partially set in a mould and then lifting it with the walls of the mould away from the bottom (10) thereof with a grab (17) on to a device 20 comprising longitudinally parallel grids 21 connected transversely at one end 22, there being a cutting frame 26 laid on the grids 21. The mould walls are then returned to the mould bottom and the aggregate is cut transversely by rotating the cutting frame 26 upwardly in the direction of arrow "A" about an axis 25. The device 20 containing the divided aggregate is then moved towards a like, oppositely disposed cutting device 29, the longitudinal grids (30) of which are laterally offset relative to the grids 21, the upper levels thereof being disposed higher than those of the grids (30). As the two cutting devices overlap the aggregate is divided perpendicularly to the original cuts by cutting frames (27), (28) disposed between the devices. When this final division is complete the device 29 is raised to support the aggregate and then passes to a curing station while the device 20 returns to receive a fresh batch of unset aggregate. The cutting frames comprise sawing wires which may oscillate. One or more of the cutting frames may be omitted.
