Abstract

1,087,333. Foundry plant. FOUNDRY MANAGEMENT & DESIGN CO. Ltd. Feb. 17, 1965 [Jan. 6, 1964], No. 484/64. Heading B3F. A casting installation includes a conveyer system along which casting boxes are transported from a loading station and back to an adjacent unloading station, the conveyer system including a first track section and a parallel closely adjacent second track section, means for moving casting boxes on the first track section in a direction away from the loading station and means for moving casting boxes on the second track section in the opposite direction towards the unloading station, transfer means being supplied at the end of the track sections remote from the loading and unloading stations to transfer casting boxes from one track section to the other by a sideways movement. The track sections may be one above the other with vertical movement of the boxes from one section to the other. The moulds are conveyed on pallets which may each hold up to 4 moulds, and examples of layouts with several parallel sections are described.
