Abstract

1,086,415. Guide for bricklaying. G. T. BLAKE. April 15, 1966 [April 15, 1965; Oct. 20, 1965], Nos. 16238/65 and 44374/65. Heading E1S. A guide for building the corner of a building comprises a post having two flanges defining the corner and connected to the brickwork to hold the post upright, and a bracket on the post carrying a thumbscrew adapted to engage the top of the brickwork to provide a suspension for the bar when setting up the guide. The flanges have slotted brackets, engaged by hooks on rods having screwed ends with nuts engaged in plates inserted in the brickwork. Between the flanges and the brickwork are plates engageable by screws to adjust the position of the flanges and the verticality of the post. The guide is shown for an outside or an inside corner. On the post can be clamped a bracket along which is slidable an attachment for a bricklayer's line.
