1,084,783. Root crop harvesters. WEIMAR-WERK VEB. Sept. 16, 1964, No. 37797/64. Heading A1F. The body 1 of a root crop harvester is articulated with a front wheel support bearing 11 by parallel guide rods 8, 7 so that the body can pivot vertically about rear axle 3. The front wheel axle 13 is rotatable for steering in the bearing and is connected with a draw bar 22. The upper guide rod 8 includes a further rod 15 pivotally connected to a hydraulic ram 16, by means of which working tools 2 can be raised. A free adjustment spindle 20 limits the working depth of the tools. In operation if the tools engage an obstruction the axles 3 and 13 will be forced apart and the tools will be raised.
