Abstract

1,083,636. Knitting-machines. R. PARTHUM. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 26, 1963], No. 37305/64. Heading D1C. A circular machine has yarn severing and removing means comprising a suction duct, and two co-operating severing members rotating in different planes, mounted below the welt dial. A disc 29 carrying a cutting ring 31 is mounted below the dial 3. The disc is engaged by a pin 27 at one end of a shaft 26 eccentrically mounted in a tube 24. The shaft and tube may be adjusted by means of a gear 39 and hub 37 respectively, to displace the ring eccentrically of the dial so that it abuts the second cutting member 42. While the dial rotates the shaft and tube are held stationary so that successive parts of the ring 31 engage the second cutter as it rotates. The threads may be cut further from the fabric by positioning the disc concentric with the dial and severing the threads between a ring 59 and a cylindrical cutting member (58, Fig. 3, not shown).
