Abstract

1,083,450. Incandescent lamps. P. J. KAYATT. June 27, 1966 [Sept. 17, 1965], No. 28767/66. Heading H1F. [Also in Divisions F4 and H2] A device simulating a flame comprises a steady light source 17, an intermittent light source 18 having a repetition rate of one to ten cycles per second, and a common supporting means. A second intermittent source 19 having a different repetition rate may be provided. The three sources may be separate lamps enclosed in a flame shaped covering of translucent material, e.g. silicone rubber. Source 18 may be in the form of a filament in series with a bimetallic switch 21 to produce flashing, and source 19 may consist of two filaments 16, 22 in series, one of which is intermittently short-circuited by a bimetallic device 23. All the filaments and switch devices may be enclosed in a single bulb.
