Abstract

1,082,300. Glass melting furnaces. DEUTSCHE TAFELGLAS A.G. DETAG. Dec. 9, 1964 [Dec. 16, 1963], No. 50208/64. Heading F4B. A glass melting tank furnace 1 has a wall part 3 defining a flow passage 10, the part 6 extending over the flow passage being formed of refractory material free from silicic acid and alumina, and containing chromium oxide. The material may also contain zirconium oxide. The part 6 comprises a block or thin plate of the material adhesively secured to conventional blocks. Alternatively the protective block may be applied to the bottom of a float (7).
