Abstract

108,209. Stacey, C. F. Aug. 2; 1916. Inkstands.-A device for inking draughtsmen's pens comprises a movable feeding member against which the pen is pressed and which is provided with means operating to displace and eject, from a normally air-tight container, a quantity of ink regulated by the extent of movement imparted to the said member. Fig. 3 shows such a device formed as a stopper for the inverted ink-bottle B. When the pen is pressed against the feed member E', the bead E<1> is raised against the action of the spring E<2>, thus opening a hole D<1> in the rubber bulb D which is deformed by the member E<4> thus causing ink to be ejected. When the pressure is removed, the bulb resumes its original shape, a small quantity of air being sucked in through the hole D<1>. A suitable stand for the ink bottle comprises a heavy base A with a drip channel A<5> and standard A<1>, the latter carrying gripping-arms A<2>.
