A dynamo-electric machine includes a casing 11 supporting two similar synthetic resinmoulded brush boxes 14 respectively accommodating two brushes 13, 12 loaded by springs 26 acting respectively between the brushes and two spring supports (24a), Fig. 3, 24 secured to the casing 11 by the same means as the brush boxes and which respectively incorporate conductive and insulating members (23a), 23 which electrically connect and insulate the supports with respect to the casing. Thus the brush 13 is earthed through the casing and the brush 12 is live being connected to an electrical terminal 27 formed by an extension of the support 24, the means being screws 22, the members being flanged sleeves engaged by conductors 25 from the brushes.
