Abstract
108,074. Sugden, T. Oct. 7, 1916. Fire and smoke tube superheaters; U-tube superheaters.-Flanges B, Fig. 3, on the ends of superheating-tubes A secured to the. header E by nuts and bolts G are recessed on their faces to receive flat jointing-washers or disks D. The recesses extend to the sides of the flanges as shown in Fig. 5, so that when the nuts are slackened, the washers may be slid into or removed from the recesses. A plain disk may be inserted in a recess to stop off a tube or element. The tubes may be secured to flanges on short lengths of tubing screwed or expanded in the headers.
