Abstract

1,080,186. Pad applicators. WERNER & MERTZ G.m.b.H. Sept. 14, 1965 [Sept. 24, 1964], No. 39194/65. Heading A4K. [Also in Division B8] A liquid applying stopper comprises a cap-shaped holder 1 non-rotatably secured to a container neck 2 and receiving a partially rotatable cylindrical inner member 5 with holes 13 which may be brought into alignment with holes 12 in the holder to allow liquid to flow from the container to a distributing means 16 of plastics foam. Rotary movement of the inner member is limited by interengaging stops 15 and recesses 14 in the holder and inner member, which ensure that in one extreme position the holes are aligned and in the other are misaligned whereby the container is sealed. The rims of the holder and inner member are of inverted U-shape, and a threaded cap 9 is screwed to the inner member so that when the cap is applied the member is turned to seal the container, and on its removal the holes are aligned. The means 16 is held by radial studs 17 extending from the wall of the inner member.
