Abstract

1,079,526. Packaging cheese. FROMAGERIES BEL - LA VACHE QUI RIT. Oct. 9, 1964, No. 41275/64. Addition to 1,011,361. Heading B8C. A machine for packaging melted cheese into cubes as described in Specification 1,011,361 is provided with a rotary vat 4 having a series of radial openings 13 containing measuring devices 15. Each measuring device comprises a cylinder 15 which is moved upwards under the action of a roller 17 following a cam 18. This brings the aperture 16 into coincidence with the aperture 14 and allows the device to be filled. After the device is fitted the cylinder 15 moves down and the plate 24 is removed to allow the molten cheese to flow out of the device through a nozzle 23. The cheese is forced out of the cylinder by a piston 19 controlled by a two-part cam 21, 22. The portion 22 of the cam is adjustable vertically to enable the highest position of the piston to be altered to vary the capacity of the measuring device. The movement of the closing plate 24 is controlled by cams 25 and 26. The vat 4 may be provided with double walls, as shown, through which circulates a hot fluid in order to keep the cheese molten.
