Abstract
1,078,395. F. M. transmission system. MARCONI CO. Ltd. March 31, 1964 [May 14, 1963], No. 18972/63. Heading H3R. A frequency modulated transmission system comprises a carrier oscillator 1 connected to one input of a modulator 2 which supplies an output to a transmission path 3-9 and to an amplitude limiter 4, e.g. a Schmitt trigger circuit, connected via a discriminator 5 and low pass filter 6 to one input of an amplitude comparator 7. This supplies a second input to the modulator which is the difference between the feedback signal and a modulating frequency signal applied to the second input to the comparator. The receiver includes an amplitude limiter 10, discriminator 11 and low pass filter 12, the characteristics of the limiter and discriminator are chosen to be substantially identical with those of the limiter 4 and discriminator 5 at the transmitter.
