Abstract

1,077,369. Magnetic structures. MULLARD Ltd. Dec. 15, 1965, No. 53203/65. Heading H1H. A core member for a pulse transformer comprises a single crystal of yttrium iron garnet having two parallel faces in 110 or 211 planes, and an aperture perpendicular to these planes. In manufacture the aperture is formed by ultrasonic drilling, and the core so formed annealed at 1200-1250‹ C. for 40-60 hours and cooled to room temperature at 5-10‹ C. per hour. The wound core is associated with a superconducting memory store.
