Abstract

1,077,365. Pressure exchangers. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd. May 18, 1966 [May 20, 1965], No. 21398/65. Heading F1N. Each of a plurality of pressure exchanger cell ring walls (3) Fig. 1 (not shown) extending between and secured along their axially extending inner and outer edges in slots (4, 5) formed in a hub (1) and a shroud (2) are formed with an even number e. g. two lobes (6) extending axially along the complete length of the cell wall and disposed in equal . number on either side of the chord line (C) of the cell wall (3); the areas defined between the cell wall chord line (C) and the mid-lines (Y) of the lobes (6) of each cell wall being equal. The resulting flexibility of each cell wall suffices to accommodate thermal expansion stresses.
