1,076,601. Making hobs. WICKMAN WIMET Ltd. Dec. 17, 1964 [Nov. 14, 1963; Jan. 9, 1964], Nos. 44973/63 and 1001/64. Headings B3A and B3K. A hob comprises closelypitched teeth. The teeth are formed on rings 21 which, together with spacers 23, are clamped by an end cap 27 and screws 28 to cause the rings to be distorted into a helix. The spacers themselves may have closely-pitched teeth to cut the tops of the gearteeth. In a further modification, the spacers are omitted and the teeth are formed on carbide rings of helical form.
