Abstract

1,075,623. Rolling metal powder. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Aug. 4, 1964 [Aug. 27, 1963], No. 31715/64. Heading B5A. Metal powder is rolled into a strip either between a plane and a grooved roll or between two co-operating grooved rolls the groove or grooves in one being disposed opposite the groove or grooves in the other. In the event of insufficient pressure between the rolls any flash formed between the normally co-operating surfaces of the rolls adjacent said groove or grooves extends in the plane of the strip and may be removed with no deleterious effect. The powder may be fed to the rolls in a stream or streams each having a width less than that of the associated forming groove so that under pressure the powder just fills the grooves, no flash being formed.
