Valves actuated by fluid under control of auxiliary pilot valve.-A double-beat valve adapted to be actuated by fluid pressure under the control of an auxiliary valve, itself controlled by governor mechanism such as described in Specification 106,865 has the valve spindle r<1> formed hollow to establish a connexion between the space between the seats and that above the actuating- piston s which is secured to the spindle. The outlet from the space above the piston to the outlet side of the main valve is controlled by a hand-actuated valve w and by a throttle valve x actuated by a piston x<5> acting through lever x<4> and link x<2>. The supply and exhaust of actuating tluid to and from the cylinder x<6> is controlled by a slide valve actuated by the governor mechanism. The main valve spindle is extended downwards and is fitted with a spring-loaded dash-pot piston working in a cylinder formed on the cover-plate r'
