An inflatable hollow body for use as a float, buoy or fender comprises a soft bladder part (1) and a stiffer part (6) apertured, e.g. to receive a rope, and it is made in a shell mould in two stages, the first to cast the part-spherical bladder portion (2) in the upper part of the shell mould (1) by combined rotation and tilting of an introduced plastisol, and the second to introduce a further plastic charge into the combined shell mould, rotating and tilting to mould the fastening member 6 in the conical portion of the shell mould and about the core (3), and causing the plastics (6) to overlap the bladder portion (2) at the shell mould joint (S).
