Abstract
1,075,106. Packaging annular bearings; containers of variable capacity. W. SCHAEFFLER and G. SCHAEFFLER. March 22, 1966 [April 27, 1965], No. 12623/66. Headings B8C and B8P. Annular anti-friction bearings or their annular components 1, Fig. 1, are packaged by arranging them in a row and encasing them in a longitudinally slit, open-ended resilient casing 4, whose ends are closed by caps 5. These may be secured to the casing by adhesive strips 6. Adhesive strips 7, wound round the casing or arranged longitudinally over the lapped edges of the slit 3, may be used to keep the slit closed. Bearings or components of varying characters may be packaged using the same diameter of casing due to its resilient nature. A pin, divided into two regions (9, 10), Fig. 2 (not shown), with diameters equal to the external and internal diameters of the bearings respectively, is used to facilitate filling and emptying of the casing. In the former case, the bearings are arranged on the region (10) and the casing placed round them, while in the latter case, the package is placed on the region (10) and the casing pushed over the region (9) to expose the bearings.
