Abstract
1,072,557. Electrophotography. KALLE A.G. Sept. 25, 1964 [Sept. 27, 1963], No 39245/64. Heading H1K. [Also in Division G2] An electrophotographic plate comprises a conductive support having thereon a photoconductive coating which contains a sensitizer and which is divided into small areas of differing light sensitivity. The areas of differing sensitivity are preferably a network of skeleton hexagons or lines (20-100 per cm.) and it is preferred that the more sensitive areas are 5 to 12 times more sensitive. The support may be a plate or foil of Al, Cu or Zn; or paper, cellulose ester, polyolefine, polyvinyl resin, polyester, polyacrylic, polyamide or polyurethane. The photo-conductive layer may be formed from the oxides, selenides, sulphides, tellurides or iodides of Zn, Bi, Mo., Pb, Sb, or Cd; oxadiazoles, imidazolones, imidazolidones, triazoles, oxazoles, thiazoles, triazines, polyvinyldiphenyls, polyvinyl naphthalenes, polyvinylstyrenes, poly- N-vinyl carbazole, poly-C-vinyl carbazole. Sensitizing dyestuffs may be added whilst balsam, colophony, colophony/phenolic or silicone resins or shellac may be used as binders.
