Abstract
1,072,439. Moulding mountings for optical elements. MEOPTA, NARODNI PODNIK. Sept. 24, 1964 [Sept. 25, 1963], No. 38916/64. Heading B5A. [Also in Division G2] In a process for locating optical elements, e.g. lenses and iris diaphragms coaxially in a mounting, the elements are fixed to ring members which are accurately located in a mould in which the mounting is centrifugally cast. In an example, Fig. 7, the optical elements 11, 12, 13 are cemented by locating lugs 110, 120, 130 to rings 113, 125, 133 which with the parts 15, 16 define a mould carried by a member 14, and the thermosetting resin mounting 1. is formed by centrifugal casting. The resin contains a filler the specific gravity of which is less than that of the binding agent so that the inner surface of the mounting is dark and dull and the outer surface smooth and glossy. The amount of filler can be chosen so that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the mounting differs by not more than 10% from that of the optical elements.
