Abstract

1,068,201. Feeding webs. ERHARDT & LEIMER OHG. Jan. 11, 1965 [Feb. 6, 1964], No. 1125/65. Heading B6B. [Also in Division F2] A roller for laterally displacing a web of material comprises a number of relatively movable discs 14, Fig. 9, or bars 6 pivoted to discs 5, Fig. 1, which discs are freely rotatable on bushes 3 keyed at an angle to a shaft 1. Roller bearings 4 are interposed between the discs 5 or 14 and the bushes 3. In Fig. 9 the roller is provided with a cylindrical rubber cover 15. The lateral displacement of the material may be varied by rotating the shaft 1 and bushes 3 either manually by means of a lever 10 or automatically in response to the position of the selvedge of the material. The shaft 1 may be driven at a constant, variable or programme controlled speed to cause continuous lateral to and fro movement of the material.
