1,068,193. Cleaning heat-exchangers. KAWASAKI JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Aug. 10, 1964 [Aug. 9, 1963]. No. 32552/64. Heading F2N. For washing the heating surfaces of a heatexchanger a plurality of combustion gas passages are formed in a flue A by a partition or partitions 10 located parallel to a flow of the gas therein, the passages containing heating surfaces 1, 2 to be washed, and damper elements 7, 8, are provided in the passages at the entrances thereof. A desired gas passage is adapted to be closed independently of the other passage or other passages and the passages are provided with cleaning fluid spraying nozzles 11, 12 and draining holes 13, 14 whereby washing of the heating surfaces 1, 2 can be effected within the passages. Soot-blowers 3, 4 may be used simultaneously and additionally with the spray nozzles.
