Abstract

Steel is galvanized in a bath comprising molten zinc containing up to 1.5% Pb, 0.05% Fe, 0.005% Al and 0.01-10% of Ni, Cr, V or 0.1-2.0% Mn at 450 DEG C. for 1-16 minutes. Low alloy, high strength steels treated have a composition of .C.P.S.Mn.Si.Cu .0.10.0.065.0.026.0.41.0.39.0.30 .0.18.0.006.0.022.0.87.0.03.0.26 .0.17.0.010.0.030.1.26.0.22.0.25 .Cr.Ni.Nb.V.N .0.66.0.32.-.-.0.002 .0.02.0.01.0.02.-.0.008 .0.44.0.40.-.0.02.0.005
