Abstract

1,066,760. Clothes driers. WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION. Dec. 16, 1965 [Jan. 4, 1965], No. 53515/65. Heading F4G. A clothes drier comprises a stationary drum 19 in which the clothes are tumbled by baffles 33 mounted on a ring-shaped carrier for movement relative to the drum and driven from a motor 40 by a drive belt 37 drivingly wrapped about the periphery of the carrier. The drum comprises two axially spaced portions 41, 42 the adjacent inner ends 46, 47 of which are shaped as by flanges to form a circumferentially continuous track or guide in which the carrier rotates. A centrifugal fan 27 discharges air through a conduit containing heating means and an air inlet 29 into the drum, which air traverses the drum for exit through an aperture (not shown) in the rear panel 13 of a housing in which the drum is located.
