Abstract
1,065,804. Tree pruners &c. N. L. HARRIS. March 25, 1966 [March 26, 1965], No. 13048/65. Heading B4B. A pair of pruning shears or secateurs for removing branches and tree growths comprises fixed and movable blades 1, 6 spring-biased to the open position, the blade 1 being rigid with an insulated support 2 formed integrally with an insulated sleeve 3 on the head of a fibre-glass tube 4 and the blade 6, which is pivoted to the blade 1, being secured to an insulated operating arm 9 which carries a pulley 11 over which passes a nylon rope 12 one end of which is secured to the support 2 and the other end of which is secured to a projection 15 at the upper end of a slidable fibre-glass sleeve 14, a projection 19 at the lower end of which having secured thereto one end of a nylon rope 17 the other end of which can be gripped by a user.
