Abstract

Aqueous formaldehyde solutions have dissolved therein, as stabilizer, a guanamine of the formula <FORM:1063541/C2/1> wherein R is an alkyl radical containing 7 to 13 carbon atoms. The above stabilizer may be added in the form of a methylol derivative and/or as an organic or inorganic acid salt. The stabilizer may generally be added in an amount up to 7% by weight and it may be dissolved in the formaldehyde at 20-80 DEG C.
