A device for checking the cathodic protection of a structure comprises a voltage sensitive relay 10 connected between the structure 2 and a reference electrode 3, the relay operating when the difference potential between 2 and 3 reaches a predetermined value. Each actuation of the relay steps on a counter 12 and starts a clock 13. A volt/hour meter may be included in the device either in addition to or in place of the clock 13. A switch 18 is provided for applying a reference setting up voltage to the relay 10, which is of the voltmeter type.
