Abstract

1,060,583. Bidet attachments for closets. T. A. BYRON. March 18, 1965 [March 18, 1964], No. 11378/64. Heading E1C. A water-closet suite comprises a bowl 4 pivotable into a closet bowl 1 for use as a bidet or upward from it by hollow arms 5 about an axis 8 and incorporating a spray or jet 7 and a flushing rim 17, one arm 5 supplying water to the rim 17 and the other to the spray (jet) 7. There are 'hot' and 'cold' taps coupled to a valve 9 to selectively direct the water thereto. The cover 14 and/or seat 13 are removable or displaceable to permit the bowl 4 to rest on the closet bowl and is/are therefore in halves about the longer axis for swing- ing apart, upward and clear of the rim 17. The bowl 4 when not used is housed in a cabinet beneath a flushing cistern 2, having doors so coupled to the seat. The spray or jet 7 may be to the rear of the rear edge of the rim 17 at the end of an arm extendable to project into the bowl centre on supply of water thereto and contractible for return with on supply. In a modification the bowl 4 is removable from the bowl 1 by having the water supply outlets blocked and the outlet 21 and overflow point 22 plugged.
