The frusto-conical threshing cylinder 31a and concave 43a of the threshing device described in Specification 1,049,834 are modified by the provision of means for discharging straw comprising outwardlydirected rods 75 mounted at the end of the threshing cylinder to throw straw centrifugally against a grill 52a. The rods are mounted on the vanes 76 of a fan arranged co-axially at the end of the cylinder 31a to create an axial draught.
