Abstract

1,060,026. Gas turbine combustion chambers. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. Oct.6, 1965, No.42467/65. Addition to 1, 021, 588. Heading F1L. Gas turbine engine combustion equipment 15 constituting an improvement in the invention claimed in Specification 1, 021, 588 comprises outer and inner casings 11, 12 respectively, forming an annular duct 13 within which is mounted a series of angularly spaced flame tubes 20. Adjacent the upstream end of each flame tube 20 is located a plate 18 lying in a radial plane and having apertures (22), Fig. 3 (not shown), of varying size therein. The sides (23) of adjacent plates 18 abut so that the flow path for air from the engine compressor surrounding the flame tubes is blocked except through the apertures (22). The construction tends to equalize pressure differences in different parts of the duct 13 and is applicable also to annular flame tubes.
