A system of cine or still panoramic photography in which the camera 14 photographs the virtual image of scene 10 formed by convex mirror 12. In projecting from the film so prepared, a convex mirror directs the projection beam on to a concave screen. The ratio of height to width of the projected image is exaggerated to give a "wide-angle" effect by the use of an ellipsoidal mirror 12 with an anamorphic camera lens, or the mirror 12 may be spherical and a variable anamorphic lens used. In each case a projection system may be used which is a duplicate of the photographic system used. A second mirror 30, which may be plane or convex or concave is used in Fig. 9 to allow the camera 14 to face the scene 10; a similar projection system is used. When distortion has been corrected in printing the positive film, projection is possible directly on to the concave screen without intervening mirrors, or if distortion persists, a variable anamorphic projection lens is used.
