Abstract

1,058,809. Pneumatic tyres. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. Aug. 2. 1965, No. 32957/65. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre having a carcass of synthetic polymer cords lying substantially in radial planes comprises a breaker formed of superimposed bias-laid plies increasing in axial width from the innermost ply wherein each breaker ply is of parallel synthetic polymer cords having an initial modulus of at least 80 gm./denier, embedded in elastomeric skin stock and lying at between 10 and 35 degrees to the circumferential. The breaker cords are preferably of polyester with a tenacity of at least 6 gm./denier.
