A seating unit comprises a plurality of individual seats secured to a frame including a pair of spaced longitudinal bars 1, 2 interconnected at intervals by a plurality of transverse bars 3, 4, 5, 6 welded to bars 1, 2. A single central support member 7 is provided with a base plate 8 and with a further plate 10, Fig. 2 (not shown) to which the bars 4, 5 are bolted or otherwise secured.
