Abstract

Amido phosphoric acid polyethylene glycol esters of formula <FORM:1057949/C2/1> are prepared by reacting a compound of formula <FORM:1057949/C2/2> and the appropriate polyethylene glycol, wherein R1 is an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group, optionally substituted by an alkyl alkoxy, or halogen group, R2 is an R1 group or hydrogen, or R1 and R2 complete a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, Y is a halogen or alkoxy group, R3 is an H, alkyl or acyl group, n is 2-100, m is n or 0, and X is 1-100. Suitable catalysts are amines and sodium metal or its alcoholate. In the examples N,N-diethyl phosphoric acid, amide dichloride, N-methyl-N-phenyl phosphoric acid amide dichloride, N-propylamido-phosphoric acid diethyl ester, N,N-diethylamidophosphoric acid dichloride and N-methyl-N-phenylamido-phosphoric acid dichloride are reacted with various polyethyleneglycols. The end groups may be modified by reaction with acids, esters, acid anhydrides or isocyanates.ALSO:Amido phosphoric acid polyethylene glycol esters of formula <FORM:1057949/C3/1> are prepared by reacting a compound of formula <FORM:1057949/C3/2> and the appropriate polyethylene glycol, wherein R1 is an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group, optionally substituted by an alkyl, alkoxy or halogen group, R2 is an R1 group or hydrogen, or R1 and R2 complete a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, Y is a halogen or alkoxy group, R3 is an H, alkyl or acyl group, n is 2-100, m is n or O, and X is 1-100.
