Abstract

A support for concrete reinforcement, or for other structural parts such as water and drain pipes of for temporary guide bars for use in levelling a concrete screed, comprises a metal rod 19 interposed between a synthetic resin top part 21 having a forked member 24 and a synthetic resin foot part 1 designed to have at least three points of contact with the internal surface of the mould. In one construction the rod 19 engages plain sockets in the top part and foot part, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) and in the construction of Fig. 3 the rod 19 engages a plain socket 4 in the foot part 1 and is threaded at its upper end to engage adjustably in a rotatable threaded socket member 18 of the upper part. The socket member 18 is connected to the part 24 by a spigot 21 having a rim 22 engaged within an undercut recess 23 in the member 18, the resilience of the material being such as to permit the rim 22 to be drawn through the smaller diameter of the recess 23. The parts 1, 19 and 18 remain cast in the concrete.
