Abstract

1,057,019. Cartons. G.K.N. SCREWS & FASTENERS Ltd. Dec. 7, 1965 [Dec. 17, 1964], No. 51319/64. Heading B8P. A carton comprises a base part 10 containing a divider 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), providing compartments 17 and open-topped trays 18, 19, slidable in the compartments between retracted positions in which their open tops are closed by the walls of the base part and extended positions in which the trays project from the base part, the interiors of the trays being accessible through their open tops. The trays, which are triangular in cross-section, have finger tabs 24 and may contain nails, screws &c. The divider 14 has a central sleeve 16 which supports the shaft 27 of, for example, a screwdriver 26, mounted in a cover 11 which slides over the base part 10. A tubular cardboard sleeve, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), is mounted in the top of the cover 11 and has strips 32, 35 pushed inwardly to support the handle 25a of the screwdriver. The carton is preferably made of cardboard but may be made of a synthetic resinous material similar to that from which the trays are moulded.
