Abstract
A flux for soldering aluminium and its alloys is made by mixing 53%-55% AlF3 with 47%-45% KF, moistening the mixture to form a paste and then drying below 200 DEG C. The fluorides should have less than 1% impurities and the mixing may be carried out dry or the AlF3 may be added to a solution of the KF. The flux may be diluted with an inert non-hygroscopic vehicle.
