The wall, e.g. of a hot water cylinder, is clamped between plates 1, 7 having complementary faces which conform to the shape of the wall, the plate 1 having secured thereto wires 6 by which, after being passed through the wall, the plate is positioned and so that the plate 7 may be secured on the studs 12. A sealing washer 22 is disposed between the wall and the plate 7, and sealing washers 16 are positioned in recesses 15 and beneath the nuts 18. A nipple 5 is screwed into the plate 1 and a backnut thereon compresses a sealing washer 10 in a recess 9 in the plate 7.
